Food Program

At Sunshine Day Nursery we understand that good nutrition not only supports growth and development but can also initiate and reinforce healthy eating habits for life.

Our food program is sponsored by the Child and Adult Care Food Program and includes a breakfast snack and afternoon snack at no additional cost.

Our menu is thoughtfully planned to include nutritious snacks, some of which are prepared by the children in class. When children are provided with the opportunity to prepare their own food, they gain valuable life skills and develop a sense of pride and ownership over the food they have made. In addition, they are more likely to explore different food items and food combinations.

In an effort to support local farms, our milk (served with breakfast snack) is supplied by Meadow Brook Farms Dairy and is delivered fresh each week.
